Decency Matters is a new, non-partisan organisation that will provide a voice for the silent majority who believe that decent behaviour generates far better well-being than a society driven by callousness, hate and division. Members of the public have grown tired of watching their world become a place where uncaring and insensitive behaviour is normalised.

By awakening, mobilising, and coordinating decent people, we will champion and celebrate leaders, employees, teachers, students and organisations that are guided by the values of decency. Together, we will strengthen the foundations of civil society.

The world today is in chaos. There are new calls for decency to be strengthened. There is a strong opportunity to build the confidence of the public through encouraging organisation and community leaders to adhere to principles of fairness and justice, and to promote values-based leadership. There has never been a more important time to act than now.

Our goal is to bring a largely silent group of individuals together through a new digital community to promote decent social and public values and behaviour. Many leaders in the charity sector and the faith organisations are already trying to address this broad agenda but it is largely uncoordinated.

Decency Matters will review existing knowledge and generate new evidence that demonstrates that common human decency positively impacts our quality of life. We will have a direct impact on the social and economic wellbeing of leaders, employees, teachers, students and organisations.
